Brave and BAT CEO and Co-Founder Brendan Eich, and Solana Labs, CEO and Founder, Anatoly Yakovenko, announced the news at Solana’s Breakpoint conference about how the companies will collaborate to bring a top-quality wallet system dedicated to Solana Blockchain compatible with Brave’s Web3 desktop along with mobile browsers by 2022.
Brave will incorporate the Solana Blockchain into its browser, giving Brave’s 42 million active monthly users and 1.3 million certified Creators access to the Solana ecosystem by default. For cross-chain and Solana native DApps, Brave will eventually default to Solana.
The Solana Blockchain provides quick and low-fee transactions, aiding DeFi and Web3 adoption. The usual high transaction costs on Ethereum have deterred some users from trading. Solana is the world’s quickest Blockchain, allowing customers to scale up the Blockchain transaction for $0.001 – $0.002 USD on every transaction, saving them a considerable amount of money.
Solana is a part of the quick-growing ecosystem, and its inclusion in the Brave browser is the consequence of demand from developers and users.
Deep browser integration is critical for DApps. Brave’s introduction of support to the Solana wallet in all versions of existing browsers acts as a vital step toward bringing billions to the platform.
Solana will also allow Brave’s Themis protocol to be implemented on the Solana Network, which is critical in the Roadmap of BAT 2.0. Furthermore, it will push developers to promote BAT on Solana-based DApps and the Solana network as a whole.
Brave appears to be the most privacy-conscious option for Web3 access. Users with brave mobile devices will be able to browse Web3 in a more secure environment.
